BACKGROUND
Intellectual Property (IP) is a term referring to a number of distinct types of creations of the mind for a set of exclusive rights are recognized which consists of human knowledge and ideas. A work or invention which results from creativity, such as a manuscript, a theorem or a design, to which one has rights they may apply for IP. Common types of intellectual property rights include copyrights, trademarks, patents, industrial design rights and trade secrets in some jurisdictions. In this workshop, we will explore the IP system, the use of IP in our research, and how to obtain an IP.
This workshop will cover the following:
– An Introduction to IP
– Explanation on the importance of IP
– Examples of research with IP
– Methods to obtain IP
– Workshop (applying IP for your research)
The workshop is limited to the first 30 participants who send their registration form with payment.
Payment can be done at Faculty of Science Postgraduate Office, C17 Level 3. The registration fee is RM50 which covers all meals and workshop materials. Certificate of participation will be provided.
