Dear All staffs and students of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia,<\/p>\n

Postgraduate Student Society Faculty of Science (PGSS FS) in collaboration with Applied Algebra and Analysis Group (AAAG)and Department of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Johor Bahru are pleased to announce that we are organizing a LaTeX Workshop on 27-28 August 2014 at Computer Lab 1 (C22 Level 3), Department of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor Bahru, Johor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

LaTeX is a document markup language and document preparation system for the TeX typesetting program. LaTeX is most widely used by mathematicians, scientists, engineers and others. Many international journals and conferences proceedings use LaTeX to prepare their documents.<\/p>\n

This workshop will cover the following:
\n– Introduction to LaTeX
\n– Aligning math symbols and tables
\n– Import picture, bibliography, references
\n– Tabling & table of contents
\n– Writing of thesis in LATEX with UTM’s format
\n– Writing of an article for book chapter in LATEX
\n– Writing of a journal article in LATEX<\/p>\n

The workshop will be conducted by Assoc Prof Dr Yusof Yaacob\u00a0 Department of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science, UTM Johor Bahru and Dr Nor Muhainiah Mohd Ali from Applied Algebra & Analysis Research Group & Department of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science, UTM Johor Bahru, assisted by 4 facilitators (see attached brochure for more info).<\/div>\n

All staffs and students of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia are invited to participate in this workshop. Please refer to the attached tentative program for the details of this workshop. The workshop is limited to the first 40 participants who send their registration form with payment.
\nRegistration with payment (BY CASH) can be made at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science (C22 – 423) starting from 14 July 2014 -21 August 2014 at 10.00 a.m-12.00 noon (WEEKDAYS ONLY). (BY BANK IN to CIMB ACC. NO7048972889 – Siti Noziahidayu Amzee binti Zamri). Please provide proof of payment by email to norzisan@gmail.com<\/a> and cc to\u00a0afiqahmohammad91@gmail.com<\/a> together with registration form the latest by 21 August 2014 (Thursday) @ 3:00 pm.<\/div>\n

The registration fees are RM30 (for students from Faculty of Science UTM), RM50 (for students from other Faculty in UTM) and RM100 (for students outside UTM) which covers all meals, certificate and workshop materials.<\/div>\n

The LATEX book is priced at an additional RM35. Please inform us earlier (latest by 21 August 2014) if you need the book. Certificate of participation will be provided.Registration form and program tentative are as attached.<\/div>\n
