Dear All staffs and students of Department of Mathematical Sciences,<\/p>\n

LaTeX is a document markup language and document preparation system for the TeX typesetting program. LaTeX is most widely used by mathematicians, scientists, engineers and others. Many international journals and conferences proceedings use LaTeX to prepare their documents.<\/p>\n

This workshop will cover the following:
\n– Introduction to LaTeX
\n– Aligning math symbols and tables
\n– Import picture, bibliography, references
\n– Tabling & table of contents
\n– Writing of thesis in LATEX with UTM’s format
\n– Writing of an article for book chapter in LATEX
\n– Writing of a journal article in LATEX<\/p>\n

The workshop will be conducted by Assoc Prof Dr Yusof Yaacob<\/b> from Department of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science, UTM Johor Bahru assisted by 3 facilitators (see attached brochure for more info).<\/p>\n

All staffs and students of Department of Mathematical Sciences are invited to participate in this workshop. Please refer to the attached tentative program for the details of this workshop. The workshop is limited to the first 40 participants who send their registration form with payment.<\/p>\n

Payment can be done by cash to Zainab Yahya at C22-423, Department of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science OR by transfer to CIMB Account No 01180069661525<\/a> (account owner: Zainab binti Yahya). The registration fees are RM50 (for AAAG members) and RM80 (for non AAAG members) which covers all meals, certificate and workshop materials.<\/p>\n

The LATEX book is priced at an additional RM30. Please inform us earlier (latest by 14 June 2013) if you need the book. Certificate of participation will be provided.<\/p>\n
