Global and Networking during The <\/strong>2nd<\/sup>\u00a0INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BIOSCIENCES AND MEDICAL ENGINEERING (ICBME<\/strong>2019<\/strong>)<\/strong> Organised by Faculty of Science UTM & Faculty of Agricultural Technology UNUD – 11&12th<\/sup> April 2019 <\/strong><\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

The biennial 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BIOSCIENCES AND MEDICAL ENGINEERING (ICBME2019) 2019\u00a0was conducted on the exclusive island of Bali, Indonesia.\u00a0This multidisciplinary conference\u00a0was\u00a0Chaired by Professor Dr. Fahrul Huyop of the\u00a0Department of Biosciences (Faculty of Science)\u00a0and Co-chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Roswanira Ab. Wahab from the Department of Chemistry (Faculty of Science)\u00a0and Dr. IB Gunam from the Department of Agroindustrial Technology, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University, Indonesia (UNUD).\u00a0The main objective of ICBME is to bring together academic members at the Faculty level between universities worldwide, as well as to strengthen and initiate MoA\/MoU and LOI partnerships. ICBME2019 is a non-profit conference that focuses on academic matters, while aiming in bringing together researchers from varying disciplines to encourage translational research activities. The main outputs of the conference include knowledge sharing, networking,\u00a0inter alia<\/em>\u00a0socializing activities between members of different faculties. Most, ICBME2019 aims to publish an abstract book and peer reviewed conference proceedings in AIP indexed by SCOPUS.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

The 2nd ICBME opening\u00a0ceremony was\u00a0initiated by the Rector of University Udayana, Prof. A A Raka Sudewi. The two day conference\u00a0done on the 11th and 12th April, 2019 was attended by participants from\u00a0more than\u00a013\u00a0countries like\u00a0Algeria,\u00a0Turkey, Qatar, USA, Pakistan, Philippines, Japan, Nigeria, Sudan, Australia, Iraq, Malaysia and Indonesia.\u00a0 The participants were mainly\u00a0academic\u00a0faculty members and research students actively\u00a0engaged in\u00a0their research.\u00a0Over 160 participants were present during the opening ceremony and keynote lectures. The participants\u00a0presented their most recent technological and scientific findings\u00a0and suited to the\u00a0conference\u00a0theme for this year,\u00a0\u201cTowards Innovative research and cross-disciplinary collaborations\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Keynote speakers of the 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0ICBME 2019 comprised of well-known and established researchers\u00a0viz.<\/em>\u00a0Prof. Emeritus Dr. Chiharu Nakamura of Kobe University, and now serving Ryukoku University in Japan.\u00a0The second\u00a0Keynote speaker was from Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Uda Hashim,\u00a0an expert on Nanotechnology for\u00a0Medical Diagnosis from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). Currently, Prof. Dr. Uda Hashim is\u00a0the\u00a0Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research and Innovation in UniMAP.\u00a0 Plenary speakers were Prof.\u00a0Dr.\u00a0Nuri Andarwulan from Bogor Agricultural University, and the other two, were Prof.\u00a0Dr. Teruo Sone from Hokkaido University, Japan and Prof. Dr.\u00a0Chung-Ho Lin from the University of Missouri, USA. ICBME2019 acknowledged\u00a0contributions by the states Government of Malaysia-Penang, Selangor, Malacca and Kedah and the private organisation, Yayasan Felda and ADABI. Their valuable contributes have significantly\u00a0aided in the successful promotion and execution of ICBME2019.<\/p>\r\n

      ICBME2019 Keynote Lecture were given by: Prof. Dr. Chiharu Nakamura (Japan) and and Prof. Uda Hashim (Malaysia). Moderator for keynote was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Roswanira Ab. Wahab, and she is also the Co-Chair II of ICBME2019.<\/p>\r\n
