On June 24th, 2025 (Tuesday), students of SSCT2453 \u2013 Product Recovery in Biotechnology had the opportunity to gain real-world insights into the applications of downstream product technology through an engaging industrial exposure session.<\/div>\n

This session focused on the significance of downstream processes in producing high-value biotechnology products such as vaccines, antibiotics, enzymes, and other bio-based items that are widely used in the agriculture, medical, and industrial sectors.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

We were honoured to welcome Encik Afiq Khir Annuar, a proud alumnus of the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Biology and Master of Biosciences (Research). Currently serving as a downstream product specialist at Biocon Sdn Bhd, Encik Afiq shared his valuable experience and perspectives on the role of downstream technologies in the pharmaceutical industry.<\/div>\n

The session not only enriched students’ understanding of industrial applications but also inspired them to explore future career paths in biotechnology.<\/div>\n
