A team of UTM students from the Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Science, Gan Li Yong (Bachelor of Science in Industrial Biology) and Gunarangini Muniandy (Master of Philosophy in Bioscience) have won the Runner-up in the Industry Innovation Award (Product Category) in conjunction with the Department of Veterinary Services Innovation Day 2025 organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of Malaysia<\/p>\n
The innovation project led by Dr Mira Panadi, Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Science, NapierMix TMR Silage, is a complete livestock feed that is vacuum-fermented by combining traditional silage with a Total Mixed Ration (TMR) formulation. It overcomes the nutritional deficiencies in conventional silage with a balanced mix of fiber, protein, energy and additives, using 100% local ingredients such as soybean meal and palm kernel.
