Johor Bahru, 22 July 2025 – The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), is proud to launch FS Research Month 2025, running from 22 July to 12 September 2025. This flagship initiative aims to invigorate research culture and capacity among academic staff and postgraduate students. Held in a hybrid format, the two-month event will feature face-to-face workshops and online sharing sessions, covering critical topics such as indexed journal publishing, intellectual property protection, edited book writing, and strategic grant applications—including international and industry grants.
According to Assoc. Prof. Ts. ChM. Dr. Nik Ahmad Nizam Nik Malek, Deputy Dean of Research, Innovation and Development, FS Research Month is “a strategic platform to elevate research productivity, mentor potential researchers, and encourage innovation and commercialization through structured support.” The program also targets academics who have yet to publish in indexed journals or secure grants in recent years, offering them direct engagement with experienced mentors and research leaders. Among the highlights are workshops in collaboration with Springer, UTM Press, and Malaysia Toray Science Foundation. The opening ceremony will be held on 22 July 2025, followed by a series of impactful events across four departments: Biosciences, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematical Sciences.
