Johor Bahru, 19 August 2025 – The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), successfully organized the IP & Innovation Roadshow as part of its Research Month@FS initiative. The full-day program, held at UTM Helix, C17, aimed to enhance understanding and awareness on Intellectual Properties (IP), protection strategies, and beyond among researchers, academicians, and innovators.
The event featured distinguished speakers Mr. Faizal Ismail and Ts. ChM. Dr. Faizuan Abdullah, who shared valuable insights on the importance of safeguarding intellectual property in today’s fast-evolving innovation landscape. Their sessions highlighted the practical aspects of patent filing, copyright, trademarks, commercialization pathways, and strategies for protecting research outputs to ensure long-term impact and sustainability.
The roadshow provided participants with a platform to learn directly from experts and gain exposure to real-world scenarios involving intellectual property management. With the increasing emphasis on research commercialization and industry collaboration, the program emphasized the critical role of IP in driving innovation, protecting researchers’ rights, and supporting national economic growth.
