Johor Bahru, 2 September 2025 – In support of cultivating a research-driven innovation ecosystem, the Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) hosted a high-impact Sharing Session titled “How to Market the Product”, as part of the ongoing Research Month@FS initiatives.

Held at UTM Helixs, C17, the session brought together researchers, postgraduate students, and innovators for an engaging half-day programme focused on practical strategies for commercializing research outputs.

Two accomplished speakers led the session:

🔹 Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liza binti Md. Salleh, founder of GoSwiet®, shared her entrepreneurial journey in translating scientific research into a commercial wellness product. As an academic and scientist with expertise in bioactive extraction using supercritical CO₂ technology, Dr. Liza exemplifies how research can be transformed into viable, consumer-ready innovations. Her product, GoSwiet, is a natural formulation that promotes health and wellness through evidence-based active ingredients.

🔹 Mr. Mohamad Fitri bin Khamis@Subari from the Innovation and Commercialization Centre (ICC), UTM, offered a strategic overview of the commercialization process within UTM, including technology transfer, intellectual property protection, licensing, and market matching. His session emphasized the institutional support available to researchers aiming to bring their innovations to market.

Throughout the session, participants were introduced to real-world strategies, institutional frameworks, and case studies that demonstrated how research impact can extend beyond publications—through commercialization, branding, and consumer engagement.

This event reflects the Faculty of Science’s ongoing commitment to supporting researchers not only in producing high-quality research, but also in realizing its potential through innovation, translation, and market reach.
