Johor Bahru, 19 August 2025 \u2013 The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), successfully organized the IP & Innovation Roadshow<\/strong> as part of its Research Month@FS initiative. The full-day program, held at UTM Helix, C17<\/strong>, aimed to enhance understanding and awareness on Intellectual Properties (IP), protection strategies, and beyond<\/strong> among researchers, academicians, and innovators.<\/p>\n

The event featured distinguished speakers Mr. Faizal Ismail<\/strong> and Ts. ChM. Dr. Faizuan Abdullah<\/strong>, who shared valuable insights on the importance of safeguarding intellectual property in today\u2019s fast-evolving innovation landscape. Their sessions highlighted the practical aspects of patent filing, copyright, trademarks, commercialization pathways, and strategies for protecting research outputs<\/strong> to ensure long-term impact and sustainability.<\/p>\n

The roadshow provided participants with a platform to learn directly from experts and gain exposure to real-world scenarios involving intellectual property management. With the increasing emphasis on research commercialization and industry collaboration, the program emphasized the critical role of IP in driving innovation, protecting researchers\u2019 rights, and supporting national economic growth.<\/p>\n

The IP & Innovation Roadshow<\/strong> also forms part of UTM Faculty of Science\u2019s commitment to nurturing a vibrant research ecosystem by empowering its community with the necessary knowledge and tools to protect their innovations. This aligns with the faculty\u2019s vision to position itself as a hub for impactful research and sustainable solutions.<\/p>\n
