Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jafariah Jaafar

Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry.

Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science

Research Interests:

The synthesis and development of silica monolith capillaries with high-efficiency, high selectivity and high-throughput for the liquid chromatographic and capillary electrochromatographic separation of anions and biomolecules was carried out in collaboration with Kyoto Institute of Technology, and applied for the speciation of arsenic compounds.

The study of new emerging pollutants in water and wastewater is the focus of the current research, utilizing capillary electrophoresis, CE TOF and LC QTOF.  Modeling study on the fate and transport of these pollutants in a river wastershed used as a drinking water source is being carried out.
