INDUSTRY VISIT TO MOLNLYCKE HEALTH CARE SDN BHD

The RGMO team involved in the Management Science/Operations Research Society of Malaysia (MSORSM) industrial visit to Molnlycke Healthcare Sdn Bhd, themed ” A Step Towards Innovation and Collaboration!” The event, which took place on 15th December 2023, was led by Vice President and MSORSM Chairman, Professor Zulkifli Mohd Nopiah. Delving into the operations of this renowned production center, celebrated for its excellence in surgical gloves, a staple in hospitals across Europe and the United States, was a highlight of the visit.
An essential aspect of the excursion involved discussions on fostering a love for mathematics among employees and igniting impactful corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Molnlycke Healthcare also shared insights into its inclusive recruitment strategy, offering opportunities for ambitious college graduates to join its esteemed workforce. Inspired by these exchanges, RGMO members departed with a newfound eagerness to collaborate, envisioning a future marked by shared knowledge and collective progress.

4th MALAYSIA MATHEMATICS IN INDUSTRY STUDY GROUP (MMISG 2023)
MMISG2023 was held at Menara Razak, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, from November 20th to 22nd, organized by UTM Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (UTM-CIAM). the primary objective of Malaysia Mathematics in Industry Study Group-MMISG is to bridge the gap between academia and industry in Malaysia. The event serves as a convergence of academic rigor and industrial pragmatism, where the world of mathematical theory meets the complex, multifaceted issues faced by local industries. It is a platform for researchers to apply their expertise to solve industrial relevant problems, fostering a collaborative spirit between the two domains. RGMO members participated in the industry problem-solving through the application of Operation Research (OR) methodologies.

International Symposium on Advanced Statistical Data Analysis and Operational Research (iADORE2020)
7-8 December 2020
The iADORE2020 event, jointly organized by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), University of Dhaka (DU) in Bangladesh, and Universitas Andalas (UNAND) in Indonesia, with support from Institut Statistik Malaysia (ISM), forms an integral part of the Online Global Classroom (OGC) initiative. UTM’s organizing committee is comprised of representatives from various research groups within the Department of Mathematical Sciences, including the Climate Change Research Group (CCRG), Statistical Modelling (STAM) Research Group, and the Research Group in Mathematical Optimization (RGMO).
The scheduled events include keynote presentations and demonstration sessions highlighting proficiency in SIMUL8 and RShiny. During the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zaitul Marlizawati Zainuddin and Dr. Nur Arina Bazilah Aziz from RGMO were featured as the keynote speaker and showcase skills speaker, respectively.
