All students registered for MPhil programmes must undergo the first assessment by presenting\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">their research proposal, and the second assessment (mini-viva) by presenting their on going\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">research\u2019s progress in regards to their research proposal. Students who opted for the double\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">degree programme must undergo the first assessment at their home university and only the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">second assessment at their partner university. To be inaugurated by any degree, all students must\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">undergo thesis examination which can be done at least two-months after the second assessment.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">The first assessment and the second assessment are scheduled according to the student\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">appropriate semester of study as described below:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">Task Full Time<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">First Year Assessment Week 10\/11 (Semester 1 or 2)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">Mini Viva Week 10\/11 (Semester 2 or 3)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">Progress Report Week 12 (Every semester)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">Students who are submitting the final draft of their thesis should send in the Notice of Thesis<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">Submission to the Faculty at least 3 months prior to the date of submitting their thesis.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Programme Name: Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy (Bioscience) (Full time and Part time) &#8211; by Research | M.Phil (Bioscience) &#8211; Research\u00a0| Ph.D (Bioscience) &#8211; Research\u00a0| Assessments Assessment is done by examining first assessment reports (research proposal), second assessment\u00a0report (mini-viva), each semester\u2019s progress reports, and thesis examination (viva-voce).
