The normal duration of study for full time students are 2\u20136 semesters (1\u20133 years) for the Master\u2019s programmes and 6\u201312 semesters (3\u20136 years) for the Doctor of Philosophy programmes. For part-timers, the normal duration for the Master\u2019s programmes are 4-8 semesters (2-4 years) and 8-14 semesters (4-7 years) for the Doctor of Philosophy programmes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">For the Masters Degree, students may register either for the Masters by Research Programme or Masters by Taught Course and Research (Mixed Mode).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">Each programme requires the student to take at least one of the\u00a0University compulsory courses from the following options:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">UHAP 6013 \u2013 Seminar on Global Development, Economic and Social Issues<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">UICW 6023 \u2013 Philosophy of Science and Social Development<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">UPPF 6033 \u2013 Dynamics of Leadership<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">In addition, International students are required to take 3 credit hours of the following university courses:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">UHAZ 6123 \u2013 Malaysian Society and Culture (international students of non-Malay race)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">UHAZ 6323 \u2013 Bahasa Malaysia Penulisan Ilmiah (international students of Malay race) <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;
