The core business of our program is to develop the students to be knowledgeable,\u00a0<\/span><\/i>productive and competent in addressing and solving problems in various field of\u00a0<\/span><\/i>physics through new academia learning innovation (NALI), research and development\u00a0<\/span><\/i>activities and involvement from industries. We also want to nurture and educate our\u00a0<\/span><\/i>students to be efficient and innovative, excellent leadership and ethical characteristics.\u00a0<\/span><\/i>In addition, we want to equip them to have positive attitude and responsible by engaging\u00a0<\/span><\/i>and contributing professionally towards the well-being of the environment and a\u00a0<\/span><\/i>sustainable community.<\/i><\/p>\n The Department of Physics offers two undergraduate programmes\u00a0<\/span><\/i>i.e Bachelor of Science (Industrial Physics) with Honours and\u00a0<\/span><\/i>Bachelor of Science (Physics) with Honours. For postgraduate studies,\u00a0<\/span><\/i>we offer Master of Science,\u00a0<\/span><\/i>Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy.\u00a0<\/span><\/i>Our graduates are groomed for a variety of career paths including careers\u00a0<\/span><\/i>in the industries and academia, among others.<\/i><\/p>\n Our department comprises of 35 academic staff members with excellent\u00a0<\/span><\/i>educational background in the field of Physics; that can be distributed\u00a0<\/span><\/i>into four main Academic Panels; Instrumentation, Materials, Optics and Nuclear & Radiation.\u00a0<\/span><\/i>Each and every one of our academic staff are certified Physicists and\u00a0<\/span><\/i>member of professional bodies and societies; both national and\u00a0<\/span><\/i>international, including MASS,\u00a0 <\/span>including\u00a0<\/span><\/i>The Malaysian Solid State and Technology Society (MASS),\u00a0<\/span><\/i>The Institute of Physics (IOP), Malaysian Nuclear Society (MNS),\u00a0<\/span><\/i>Malaysian Radiation Protection Association (MARPA),\u00a0<\/span><\/i>Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE),\u00a0<\/span><\/i>Malaysia Board of Technologies (MBOT) and\u00a0<\/span><\/i>Optical Society Malaysia (OSM).<\/i><\/p>\n Building on years of experience, these members serve as journal editors,\u00a0<\/span><\/i>journal reviewers, conference organizers, and are actively involved in\u00a0<\/span><\/i>outreach initiatives in the community. With excellent facilities, we offer a harmony\u00a0<\/span><\/i>environment for our members; staff and students alike.
