Skudai, Johor, 25 March 2025<\/em> \u2014 In an inspiring move to bring science closer to school students, Dr. Izyan Hazwani binti Hashim from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) successfully conducted a three-part outreach program titled “Unveiling the Invisible: The Science of Radiation”<\/em> under the STI 1003 (Kitaran 1) initiative.<\/p>\n Held at SMK Sri Pulai Perdana in Johor, this initiative was part of the national effort spearheaded by Akademi Profesor Malaysia to promote science, technology, and innovation (STI) among school communities. Over the course of three sessions\u2014on 25 February, 5 March, and 18 March 2025\u2014more than 90 students from Form 3 and Form 4 were engaged in exciting, hands-on learning experiences.<\/p>\n The program aimed to introduce fundamental concepts of atomic structure, natural radiation, and nuclear and particle physics, sparking interest through practical demonstrations and interactive modules. Among the highlights were the use of a cloud chamber to visualize cosmic radiation and the integration of AI to interpret radiation patterns\u2014an approach that brought textbook concepts vividly to life.<\/p>\n Students were particularly intrigued by the mix of scientific theory and real-world applications.
