Synthetic biology is an emerging multidisciplinary field of study that involves the applications of engineering principles to biology. Research in synthetic biology can be subdivided into broad classifications according to the approach they take to the problem at hand: standardization of biological parts, biomolecular engineering, genome engineering. The study is aimed to design and build engineered biological systems that process information and manipulate biochemicals for diverse applications including healthcare and biotechnology production.
