Kuala Lumpur, 2 Jul 2024 – Dr. Siti Salwa Alias, from the Department of Physics at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), has been awarded the prestigious Gold Award in the Category C: Innovation in Teaching and Learning at the International Teaching Enhancement and Learning Innovation Carnival 2024 (ITeLiC ’24). Her award-winning project, titled “Crystal Voyage: Empowering TVET Program via Project-Based Learning,” stood out for its innovative approach to enhancing technical and vocational education through active and project-based learning methods.
This groundbreaking project, “Crystal Voyage,” aims to strengthen TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) programs by engaging students in real-world, hands-on learning experiences, thus equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the industry. The project-based learning model used in Crystal Voyage encourages critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration, which are essential for the modern workforce.
The ITeLiC ’24 platform is a prestigious international event that highlights innovations in teaching and learning.
