UTM Research Team Shines with Innovative Study on Bioconvection in Brinkman Fluid with Carbon Nanotubes

Dr. Ahmad Qushairi Mohamad from the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has been awarded the Gold Medal at the Semarak International Research Article Competition (SIRAC) 2024 II. His award-winning article, titled “Analytical Study on Bioconvection in Brinkman Type Fluid with Carbon Nanotubes in Channel: Water Filtration Application,” showcases groundbreaking research that could revolutionize water filtration technology.

The research team, which includes Prof. Dr. Sharidan Shafie, Dr. Lim Yeou Jiann, and Dr. Noraihan Afiqah Rawi, explored the use of carbon nanotubes in Brinkman-type fluids to enhance bioconvection properties for water filtration. This study provides new insights into improving filtration processes by leveraging the unique properties of carbon nanotubes, which can lead to more efficient and sustainable water purification methods.
