Kuala Lumpur, 20 September 2024 — A team from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has been awarded the Silver Medal at the 6th Innovative Practices in Higher Education Expo (I-PHEX 2024), held at Residensi UTMKL, Kuala Lumpur. The team, led by Dr Norma Alias along with Hamidreza Kashefi, Asim Khan, and Muhammad Iqbal Haikal Samia’an, earned the accolade for their innovation titled “Nurturing Students’ Mathematical Mind in Engineering Mathematics.”
Their innovative approach aimed to enhance the mathematical skills of engineering students, focusing on strengthening their analytical abilities and problem-solving competencies through practical and interactive methods.
The award was presented by Dr. Syamsul Rizal Abd. Shukor, President of the Society of Engineering Education Malaysia (SEEM), and Dr. Nurazlina Ghazali, Director of the Centre for Engineering Education (CEE), UTM. The prestigious event was co-organized by SEEM and CEE, with support from UTM, and saw participation from various educational institutions showcasing innovative projects to advance higher education.
I-PHEX 2024, an annual platform, encourages educational practitioners to share their breakthroughs in teaching methodologies and student learning processes, with the goal of improving educational standards worldwide.
