We are delighted to announce that Dr. Nabilah Kasim, from the Physics Department, Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), has been awarded the prestigious Gold Award at the Synergistic Government-University-Community-Industry (GUCI) Seminar 2024. This outstanding recognition was granted for her exceptional work on the Young Scientist Pioneer Project, which aims to inspire the next generation by promoting interest and participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields among school students.

The project addresses a significant issue — the lack of awareness and interest in STEM careers among youth — by providing hands-on workshops and practical experiences to ignite curiosity and develop future scientists and engineers.

The GUCI 2024 Exhibition provides a platform for academia, industry, and the community to showcase collaborative projects that contribute towards sustainable development. Dr. Nabilah’s project stood out for its innovation, practicality, and positive impact on students, earning her well-deserved recognition at this prestigious event.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Nabilah for her hard work, dedication, and significant contribution to advancing STEM education in Malaysia. This achievement highlights the commitment of UTM to fostering innovation and inspiring the younger generation through impactful educational initiatives.

Well done, Dr. Nabilah! Your success continues to make UTM proud.
