Johor Bahru, 29 September 2024 – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia’s (UTM) Faculty of Science successfully organized a Book Chapter Writing Workshop yesterday at UTM Helix, C17, Faculty of Science. The workshop, held from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, provided valuable insights into the process of writing and contributing to academic books.

Led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nik Ahmad Nizam Nik Malek, the Deputy Dean of Research, Development, and Innovation at the Faculty of Science, the session offered participants practical guidance on structuring, drafting, and polishing book chapters. Dr. Nik, an expert in research and academic publication, shared his experiences and provided actionable tips that participants could immediately apply to their own writing projects.

The workshop proved highly beneficial for the attendees, who were mostly academics and researchers. They gained critical skills in academic writing, learned how to present their research findings in book chapters, and understood the importance of publishing to enhance their professional profiles. Moreover, the program served as a platform for networking and collaboration, encouraging future joint writing projects and knowledge-sharing among participants.

This initiative is part of UTM’s broader efforts to foster a strong research culture, promote academic excellence, and encourage its faculty members to contribute to the global knowledge community through impactful publications.
