We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Siti Rohani Mohd Nor, from the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), has been awarded the Kurita Overseas Research Grant (KORG) 2024. This esteemed grant highlights her innovative project titled “Rainfall Resilience: Hybrid Modelling of Rainfall Event Generation for Sustainable Water Management in Malaysia.”

The project, running from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025, aims to develop advanced hybrid models for rainfall event generation. By addressing the challenges of sustainable water management, Dr. Siti Rohani’s research will contribute to enhancing Malaysia’s resilience to extreme weather and rainfall variability.

Dr. Siti Rohani is supported by a distinguished team, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shariffah Suhaila Syed Jamaludin, Dr. Adina Najwa Kamarudin, and Dr. Siti Mariam Norrulashikin. Together, they will utilize this ¥400,000 grant to drive forward impactful research in environmental sustainability.
