The Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Science, UTM, successfully hosted an engagement session with representatives from Biogenes Technologies Sdn Bhd on 19 February 2025. The session, held at the Al-Hazen Meeting Room and accessible online via Webex, aimed to strengthen research and academic collaborations between UTM and Biogenes Tech.
Insights from the Session
The session was graced by Mr. Tang Kok Mun, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Biogenes Technologies Sdn Bhd, along with researchers and lecturers from the Department of Biosciences. Mr. Tang shared insights into the company’s latest advancements, particularly in the design, development, and commercialization of animal-free aptamers for life science applications.
Ongoing Collaboration and Future Opportunities
Biogenes Tech. has a strong history of collaboration with UTM, having provided industrial training opportunities for students and co-supervising Final Year Undergraduate Projects (FYUP). During the session, lecturers and researchers engaged in discussions on potential research initiatives and long-term collaborative projects with Biogenes Tech., particularly in biosensors, diagnostics, and life sciences.
