JOHOR BAHRU, 28 February 2025 – The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), continues to demonstrate excellence in community engagement and knowledge transfer through impactful projects that address real-world challenges. Several projects led by faculty researchers have been awarded prestigious star ratings under the 2025 Community Engagement Star Rating Evaluation, reflecting their contribution to society through scientific innovation, sustainability, and education.
Among the ten recognized projects, four have earned the highest 5-star rating, while six others received a commendable 4-star rating, highlighting the faculty’s commitment to bridging academia with community needs.
5-Star Rated Community Engagement Projects
The following projects have been recognized with the highest 5-star rating, showcasing exceptional impact and effectiveness in engaging with the community:
- Dr. Siti Salwa Alias – Bengkel Penataran Sains Bahan Zon Johor 2023
- Dr. Siti Pauliena Mohd Bohari – Agro Usahawan Roselle Organik Skudai
- Dr. Nor Zalina Othman – Program Amalan Pertanian Baik bagi Melestarikan Industri Pertanian Johor (TANGKAK)
- Dr. Farah Hanis Juhari – Program Kesedaran Kanser Kulit dan Cahaya Matahari

- Dr. Huszalina Hussin – Program Pemeliharaan dan Pemuliharaan Biodiversiti Sungai di Pasir Gudang
- Prof. Madya Dr. Norma Alias – Mathematical Thinking and Problem Solving for Meaningful Learning
- Dr. Raihana Ridzuan – Program Hidroponik Secara Organik Menggunakan SOLAR @ SIREH PARK
- Dr. Mira Panadil – Transformasi Taman Ilmu Kampung Pasir Tampoi
