22 May 2025 | Setia Tropika, Johor Bahru — Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) continues to strengthen its industry engagement through a strategic visit to Cemseal Industries Sdn. Bhd., a leading name in construction chemicals and advanced materials. The visit, held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Cemseal’s headquarters in Setia Tropika, Johor Bahru, served as a follow-up to Cemseal’s initial visit to UTM on 24 April 2025.
The UTM delegation, representing the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, included Dr. Juan bin Matmin, Dr. Naharullah Jamaluddin, Dr. Najaa Mustaffa, Dr. Nurul Hidayah Abdul Razak, and Dr. Muhammad Amirul Aizat bin Muhammad Abdah (ChM). The team was warmly received by Cemseal’s executive and operational leadership, led by CEO Mr. Heng Meng Seng and COO Mr. Hing Kai Sen, along with Product Operational Manager Mr. Kang Ee Kin and QC Officers Ms. Nur Ishamina Sharul Hisham, Ms. Seri Syahinda Samsudin, Ms. Nor Hidayati Mohd. Nazri, and Mr. Mohamad Amminuddin Wahab.
The visit featured a comprehensive tour of Cemseal’s facilities, including their manufacturing floor, warehouse, and research and development laboratory. This provided the UTM team with valuable insights into Cemseal’s innovation pipeline and technological capabilities.
A focused discussion session followed, exploring:

The drafting of a Letter of Intent (LoI) to formalize collaborative efforts.

Joint research initiatives with potential funding support from Cemseal.

Internship placements and industry training for UTM students, aimed at nurturing future-ready talent.
Both sides expressed strong interest in moving forward and agreed to conduct follow-up meetings to finalize the LoI and supporting documentation. The visit marks a significant milestone in building a sustainable, mutually beneficial partnership between academia and industry.
