JOHOR BAHRU, 13 August 2025 – The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), continued its Faculty of Science Seminar Series 2025 – Popular Seminar Series with an inspiring session titled “A Roadmap for High-Performance Perovskite Tandem Solar Cells.”
The seminar featured Distinguished Professor Dr. Peng Gao from the Chinese Academy of Science, China, who is internationally recognized for his research on advanced photovoltaic technologies. Held at UTM HELiX S C17, the event attracted researchers, academics, and postgraduate students keen to explore the future potential of perovskite tandem solar cells in renewable energy applications.
During his presentation, Prof. Dr. Peng Gao outlined the progress and challenges in developing high-performance perovskite tandem solar cells, highlighting their advantages in achieving higher efficiency, lower production costs, and scalability compared to traditional solar technologies. He also provided insights into current global research trends, material engineering approaches, and the roadmap toward commercialization of this promising renewable energy solution.
The seminar emphasized the role of innovation in addressing the world’s growing energy demands while contributing to sustainable and cleaner energy alternatives.
