KUALA LUMPUR, 3 September 2025 – The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) successfully conducted a one-day XRD Workshop for Pharmaceuticals: Principles, Practice & Application, held at MJIIT, Kuala Lumpur. The event brought together 42 participants from academia, industry, and regulatory agencies to explore the crucial role of X-ray diffraction (XRD) in pharmaceutical science.

The workshop featured a comprehensive programme that included:

✅ In-depth sessions on XRD fundamentals and its applications in pharmaceutical analysis
Hands-on training using the Rigaku Miniflex 600C instrument
Case studies on polymorphism, crystallinity, and solid-state characterization

This technical training session aimed to strengthen research and development capabilities in pharmaceutical material analysis — a key aspect in ensuring product quality, stability, and efficacy.

More than just a technical workshop, the event also fostered meaningful collaborations between researchers, industry practitioners, and regulatory professionals, ultimately enhancing innovation within Malaysia’s pharmaceutical sciences ecosystem.
