The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), proudly congratulates Dr. Suzarina Ahmed Sukri from the Department of Mathematical Sciences for her outstanding achievement in securing the Kurita Water and Environment Foundation (KWEF) Overseas Research Grant.

Dr. Suzarina was awarded a research grant amounting to JPY 400,000 to conduct her project titled “Interpolating Rainfall Data Trends for Pahang Area Using Polynomial Regression”. The research will be carried out from October 2025 to September 2026.

This project aims to address the pressing issue of rainfall pattern analysis in Pahang, leveraging advanced statistical methods to enhance understanding of hydrological data and its implications for water resource management and environmental sustainability.

The success of Dr. Suzarina in obtaining this competitive international grant reflects UTM’s continued commitment to fostering impactful research aligned with global sustainability challenges. Her achievement also showcases the excellence and competitiveness of UTM researchers in securing international recognition and funding.
