24 September 2025, Johor Bahru – The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), successfully hosted the Seminar Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP)@Faculty 2024 dan Dana Komuniti MADANI 2025 at DK1, Block C17. The seminar brought together academic researchers, administrators, and faculty staff in a dynamic and engaging session aimed at monitoring project progress, sharing impactful experiences, and reinforcing UTM’s commitment to community development and national aspirations under the Malaysia MADANI framework.

Organized under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. ChM. Dr. Mohd Firdaus Abdul Wahab, with support from the Deputy Dean (Research, Innovation & Development), the session formed part of the faculty’s strategic blueprint to enhance research visibility, foster sustainable community-industry networks, and strengthen governance practices in line with UTM ASCEND 2030.

A Showcase of Societal-Driven Science

The event featured structured presentations of 12 community-based projects, comprising 10 KTP@Faculty 2024 initiatives and 2 Dana Komuniti MADANI 2025 projects. These projects represent the interdisciplinary strength of the Faculty in translating scientific knowledge into real-world community solutions—from circular economy practices and green technologies to health education and STEM literacy.

Fostering Collaborative Culture & Future Readiness

More than just a reporting platform, the seminar promoted structured reflection through progress reports, gap analyses, and action planning for the remaining implementation phase in 2025. It also served as an inspiration for newer academic staff interested in initiating community-focused projects, thereby fostering a culture of volunteerism, collaboration, and innovation within the faculty.

The session concluded with light refreshments and group photography, marking another milestone in UTM’s effort to bridge academia and society through impactful, evidence-based engagement.
