The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), proudly congratulates Dr. Mohamad Shahiir Saidin for winning a Gold Medal at the Johor International Innovation, Invention Competition and Symposium (JIIIS) 2025.
His project, titled “Site Selection for Solar PV Farm using ELECTRE in Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM),” introduces an innovative framework for identifying optimal locations for solar photovoltaic (PV) farms. By applying the ELECTRE method within the MCDM framework, the project provides a systematic and effective decision-making model that considers environmental, economic, and technical criteria for sustainable energy development.
This award recognises Dr. Shahiir’s commitment to renewable energy research and data-driven innovation, which supports Malaysia’s sustainable energy agenda and the global shift toward green technologies.
