JOHOR BAHRU, 18 November 2025 – The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), is proud to congratulate Ts. Dr. Siti Pauliena Mohd Bohari from the Department of Biosciences for successfully securing the Prototype Development Fund 1 amounting to RM30,000 under the ICCubeX Incubation Programme. This achievement highlights UTM’s strong commitment to nurturing innovation and accelerating lab-to-market pathways.
Her project, titled “Upscaling and Optimization of Hibiscus sabdariffa Linn (Roselle) Emulsion Prototype for Product Development,” focuses on enhancing and scaling up a natural Roselle-based emulsion for potential commercialization. Roselle, known for its high antioxidant content and vibrant bioactive compounds, offers vast potential in food, cosmetic, and wellness industries. The project aims to refine the formulation, improve stability, and optimize processing parameters to meet industry-ready standards.
This initiative not only strengthens UTM’s innovation ecosystem but also supports the development of high-value products derived from local natural resources, contributing to Malaysia’s bio-based economy.
