JOHOR BAHRU – The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), congratulates Prof. Dr. Nor Haniza Sarmin from UTM and Dr. I Gede Adhitya Wisnu Wardhana from Universitas Mataram, Indonesia, on successfully securing the Universitas Mataram Fundamental Research Grant.

The research project, entitled “Spectral Analysis and Mathematical Modelling of Graph Energy for Antibacterial Compounds Based on Terpenoid Derivatives,” received funding amounting to Rp 143,480,000. The project will be conducted for one year, from 14 April 2026 to 13 April 2027.

The study integrates spectral graph theory and mathematical modelling to investigate the structural properties of terpenoid-derived antibacterial compounds. The findings are expected to contribute to a better understanding of the relationship between molecular structures and their potential antibacterial activities.

This achievement strengthens the international research collaboration between UTM and Universitas Mataram while supporting the advancement of interdisciplinary research involving mathematics, chemistry and biological applications. The Faculty of Science extends its congratulations to both researchers and wishes them every success in completing the project.
