JOHOR BAHRU, 25 June 2026 – A team from the Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), successfully secured a Silver Award at the International Innovation Competition in Education, held as part of the International Innovative Science and Mathematics Education Festival (FIISME) 2026.
The award-winning team was led by Dr. Ahmad Fadillah Embong, with members Dr. Azizi Rosli, Dr. Taufiq Khairi Ahmad Khairuddin, and PhD students Nurin Shafinaz Suhaili Zaman, Ang Chin Xiang, and Nurhazirah Mohamad Yunos.
FIISME 2026 was held from 24 to 25 June 2026 and organised by the Persatuan Pendidikan Sains dan Matematik Johor (PPSMJ). The competition provided a platform for educators, researchers and students to showcase innovative ideas and solutions aimed at strengthening teaching and learning in science and mathematics.
This achievement reflects the Faculty of Science’s continued commitment to educational innovation, collaborative research and the development of impactful approaches that enhance learning experiences. The involvement of both academic staff and postgraduate students also demonstrates the importance of teamwork and research mentorship in producing meaningful educational innovations.
