JOHOR BAHRU, 1 October 2026 – The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), congratulates Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fong Wan Heng from the Department of Mathematical Sciences for receiving the Best Manuscript Award at the 33rd National Symposium of Mathematical Sciences (SKSM33).
The award recognised her manuscript entitled “H-Eigenvalues and Hermitian Energy of Cyclic Multidigraph.”
The research contributes to the field of graph theory and mathematical sciences, particularly the study of eigenvalues and energy-related properties of directed graph structures. Such fundamental mathematical investigations contribute to a deeper understanding of the structural and spectral properties of complex graphs.
The 33rd National Symposium of Mathematical Sciences (SKSM33), held from 14 to 15 September 2026, provides a national platform for researchers, academics and students to present their latest findings, exchange ideas and strengthen research networks across different areas of mathematical sciences.
The Best Manuscript Award highlights the quality of fundamental mathematics research undertaken at the Department of Mathematical Sciences and reinforces the Faculty of Science’s commitment to research excellence and scholarly impact.
This achievement also supports the aspirations of UTM ASCEND 2030 in advancing high-quality research and strengthening UTM’s research prominence.
