UTM and Universitas Diponegoro Strengthen Collaboration with MOU Signing and Expert Lecture
On November 10, 2024, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) embarked on a significant step towards enhanced academic collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) exchange and a specialized lecture. The program began with the ceremonial exchange of MoU documents between the Deans of the Faculty of Science from both institutions, symbolizing a mutual commitment to advancing research and academic excellence.
Following the MoU exchange, representatives from both universities engaged in a productive research collaboration discussion. This dialogue explored potential joint research initiatives, faculty exchanges, and shared academic resources, aiming to leverage the strengths of both institutions in the fields of science and engineering.
The event culminated in the afternoon with an insightful lecture by Dr. Eng. Ali Khumaeni from Universitas Diponegoro. Titled “New Sampling Techniques of Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) Utilizing Pulse TEA – CO2 Laser for Delicate Sample Analysis,” the lecture was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Raja Kamarulzaman Raja Ibrahim from UTM. Dr. Khumaeni shared his expertise on innovative LIBS techniques, emphasizing the application of pulse laser technology for precise analysis of delicate samples.
This event marked a promising beginning for collaborative research between UTM and UNDIP. By formalizing their partnership, both universities aim to foster academic and scientific advancements, strengthening ties that will benefit the academic community and contribute to breakthroughs in laser spectroscopy and other critical research areas.
