Johor Bahru, 21 July 2024 – A formal courtesy visit by Prof. Dr. Michael C. Breadmore from the University of Tasmania, Australia, was held at the Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), as part of ongoing efforts to foster international research collaboration. Prof. Breadmore, who serves as the Director of the Australian Centre for Research on Separation Science (ACROSS), is also a co-mentor for the Long-Term Research Grant Scheme (LRGS) project between UTM and Japan Science and Technology Agency (JSU).
The visit aimed to strengthen the research ties between the University of Tasmania and UTM, particularly under the LRGS-JSU grant currently being undertaken. The distinguished guests who accompanied Prof. Dr. Breadmore included:
- Prof. Dr. Michael C. Breadmore, Director of ACROSS, University of Tasmania, Australia.
- PM Dr. See Hong Heng, representative from the Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science, UTM.
- Dr. Aemi Syazwani Abdul Keyon, also from the Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science, UTM.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Science, and discussions were held to explore potential avenues for joint research, knowledge exchange, and collaboration in the fields of separation science and chemistry.
The meeting, organized for 10:00 AM. Also invited to the meeting was PM Dr. Nik Ahmad Nizam Nik Malek, representing the Deputy Dean (Research, Development and Innovation), faculty of Science, UTM. This visit marks another significant milestone in the continuous efforts of UTM to expand its international research network and collaborations.
The discussions are expected to yield fruitful results for both institutions, fostering deeper cooperation and development in research initiatives.
