On December 12, 2024, the Faculty of Science Industrial & Innovation Showcase (SIIFS 2024) continued with an enriching session featuring an Academic Staff Research Showcase and an Undergraduate Module Preview. The event ran from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the T02 Foyer and highlighted the latest research projects and academic offerings within the Department of Biosciences.

Academic Staff Research Showcase

The session spotlighted groundbreaking research from the faculty’s academic staff, demonstrating the diverse and impactful work being conducted in the fields of biotechnology and biology. The showcase included the following presentations:

1. Dr. Mira Panadi
Sustainable Nutrition for Healthy Livestock with MoringaPro Pellets
Focused on developing sustainable nutrition solutions for livestock using Moringa-based pellets.

2. Dr. Siti Pauliena Mohd Bohari
Roselle Revolution: Redefining Health, Beauty, and Beyond
Explored the multifaceted benefits of Roselle in health, beauty, and wellness.

3. Dr. Huszalina Hussin
End to End Composting System
Presented an integrated system for efficient composting to support sustainable waste management.

4. Dr. Wan Rosmiza Zana Wan Dagang
Protease Debridement Cream
Highlighted the development of a protease-based cream for advanced wound care and debridement.

5. Dr. Mohd Farizal Ahmad Kamaroddin
Microalgae as Water Quality Bioindicators
The use of microalgae to monitor and improve water quality.

6. Assoc Prof Ts ChM Dr Nik Ahmad Nizam
DUAL-ANTIBAX and Persicaria Series: Antibacterial Product from Sustainable Nanomaterials
Presented innovative antibacterial products derived from sustainable nanomaterials, highlighting their potential applications in healthcare and environmental sustainability.

Undergraduate Module Preview

In addition to the research showcase, the event featured a preview of the undergraduate modules available for students in the SSCTH (Biotechnology) and SSCYH (Biology) programs:
