Johor Bahru, January 2025 – The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), proudly congratulates Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norahim Ibrahim from the Department of Biosciences for securing the Industry Matching Programme (IMAP 3) Research Grant 2024. The grant, awarded by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, amounts to RM208,000 and will support research from 1 January 2025 to 30 June 2026.
Dr. Norahim, alongside team members Assoc. Prof. ChM. Dr. Mohd Firdaus Abdul Wahab, Dr. Fazilah Abd Manan, and Dr. Nazrin Abdul Aziz, will lead the project titled:
“Sustainable Cultivation and Yield Enhancement of Durio zibethinus (Durian) using Effective Microorganism-Based Fertilizer Supplemented with Nitrogen-fixing Bacteria.”
This project aims to revolutionize durian cultivation, focusing on sustainable practices and enhanced yield through innovative biotechnological approaches. The grant showcases UTM’s leadership in impactful research addressing agricultural sustainability and food security.
