In a significant step toward fostering global academic collaboration, Dr. Nurhafizah Binti Hasim from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), successfully participated in the International Faculty Exchange Program (IFEP) held at Chandigarh University, Mohali, Punjab, India, from 14 February to 1 March 2025.
During her visit, Dr. Nurhafizah delivered a series of expert lectures to postgraduate students in the field of Physics of Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology. Topics covered included Quantum Dots, Coulomb Blockade Phenomena, Sustainable Biopolymer Materials, and advanced nanomaterial synthesis techniques. Her lectures bridged fundamental scientific concepts with real-world applications, receiving enthusiastic responses from students.
In addition to teaching, Dr. Nurhafizah actively engaged in Chandigarh University’s Undergraduate Final Year Project Poster Symposium, providing critical feedback to budding researchers and encouraging scientific excellence. She also participated in curriculum review meetings with the Physics faculty, proposing enhancements to strengthen research-based learning and international collaborations.
The exchange program resulted in valuable outcomes, including discussions on future Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between UTM and Chandigarh University for joint research, dual-supervision of postgraduate students, and shared funding opportunities. Dr. Nurhafizah’s participation not only enhanced academic ties but also provided rich cultural experiences, embodying the spirit of global academic exchange.
