JOHOR BAHRU, 23 June 2026 – A research team from the Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), has achieved another notable milestone by winning a Gold Award at the International Virtual Innovation Exhibition (IVIX 2026) for their innovative project, “BioShield Glass.”
The award-winning team was led by Dr. Nurhafizah Hasim from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, UTM. The team members comprised Dr. Nur Hidayah Ahmad, Dr. Norshahirah Mohamad Saidi, Dr. Mohd Fuad Mohamad, and Ms. Siti Norfariza Farhana Mohd Razak.
The recognition highlights the team’s commitment to advancing innovative scientific solutions and translating research ideas into innovations with potential practical applications. The BioShield Glass project also reflects the Faculty of Science’s continued efforts to encourage impactful research, innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration among its researchers.
The Gold Award at IVIX 2026 demonstrates the team’s dedication to research excellence and strengthens UTM’s aspiration to develop innovative and sustainable solutions that contribute to society and technological advancement.
