JOHOR BAHRU, 1 October 2026 – The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), congratulates Dr. Mohamad Ridhwan Reyaz Ahmad from the Department of Mathematical Sciences for receiving the Hadiah Sanjungan (Doctor of Philosophy Thesis Category) at the Majlis Anugerah Persatuan Sains Matematik Malaysia (PERSAMA) 2026.
The recognition was awarded for his research project entitled “Analytical Study of the Caputo-Fabrizio Fractional Derivative for Casson Fluid, Casson Nanofluid and Casson Hybrid Nanofluid over a Riga Plate.”
His research applies advanced mathematical modelling to study the behaviour of complex fluids, including nanofluids and hybrid nanofluids. By incorporating fractional calculus, the work provides deeper insights into fluid flow and transport phenomena that are relevant to mathematical modelling and engineering applications.
The PERSAMA 2026 Awards Ceremony, held on 14 September 2026, recognises outstanding contributions and achievements within Malaysia’s mathematical sciences community.
Receiving the Hadiah Sanjungan highlights the quality of Dr. Mohamad Ridhwan’s doctoral research and reflects the strength of research and postgraduate scholarship within the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science, UTM.
