Associate Professor Dr. Nor Azimah Mohd Zain and Team Lead the Way in Sustainable Agriculture
The Faculty of Science at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has once again proven its commitment to sustainability and innovation by winning the Silver Medal at the Industrial Art & Technology Exhibition (INATEX) 2024. Associate Professor Dr. Nor Azimah Mohd Zain from the Department of Biosciences, along with her team, were recognized for their project titled “Sustainable Fertilization, Eco-Friendly Innovation.”
The project, which focused on promoting eco-friendly fertilization techniques, highlights an important breakthrough in sustainable agriculture. The research team members included Dr. Zarita Zakaria, Dr. Nurzila Ab Latif, Dr. Nurashikin Ihsan, Dr. Nurliyana Ahmad Zawawi, and Ts Dr. Teo Chee Loong from Agri Season Sdn. Bhd. Together, they developed an environmentally safe fertilization method that reduces chemical waste and improves crop yield, offering a practical solution for agricultural sustainability.
The recognition at INATEX 2024 underscores UTM’s role as a leader in driving eco-friendly innovations and contributing to the global conversation on sustainability. This project offers valuable insight into the future of agriculture, where sustainable practices are not only encouraged but essential.
