Dr. Nurul Aini Jaafar from the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has been honored with the prestigious Silver Medal for her outstanding research article entitled “Solute Dispersion in Casson Blood Flow through a Stenosed Artery with the Effect of Temperature and Electric Field”.
This recognition was awarded at the Semarak International Research Article Competition (SIRAC) 2024 II, an esteemed event that highlights groundbreaking research across multiple scientific disciplines.
Dr. Nurul Aini’s research provides critical insights into the behavior of blood flow, particularly in stenosed (narrowed) arteries, a condition that is often associated with cardiovascular diseases. The study explores how temperature and electric fields influence solute dispersion in non-Newtonian fluids, such as Casson fluid, which models the behavior of blood under various conditions.
The UTM Faculty of Science extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Nurul Aini Jaafar for her remarkable contribution to the field of mathematical sciences, and for bringing further recognition to the university through this achievement.
This accomplishment is a testament to UTM’s ongoing commitment to nurturing innovative research and providing platforms for its researchers to excel on the international stage.
