The International Seminar on Mathematics in Industry 2024 (ISMI2024)<\/strong>, along with the Forum Mathematics for Industry 2024 (FMfI2024)<\/strong>, concluded successfully from 9th to 11th September 2024<\/strong> at the Concorde Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Organized by the UTM Center for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (UTM-CIAM) and the Department of Mathematical Sciences, this event brought together experts and participants from various sectors to discuss the evolving role of mathematics in driving industrial innovation.<\/p>\n The seminar was officially officiated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shafinaz Shahir, Dean of the Faculty of Science, UTM<\/strong>, who represented the UTM Vice-Chancellor during the opening ceremony. The event, themed “Mathematical Evolution Guiding Industrial Innovation Futures,”<\/strong> provided a platform for valuable discussions and knowledge exchange between industry and academia.<\/p>\n Key speakers from renowned organizations, including the Asia Pacific Consortium for Mathematics in Industry (APCMfI),<\/strong> the Institute of Mathematics for Industry (IMI) Kyushu University<\/strong>, and the European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry (ECMI)<\/strong>, shared insights on applied mathematical advancements across various industries.<\/p>\n The seminar featured a wide range of topics, including applied mathematics, algebra, analysis, probability theory, stochastic modeling, operational research, and computational mathematics<\/strong>. A special forum was held to address emerging trends and future directions in mathematical sciences.<\/p>\n Participants submitted research papers, which are currently under review for publication in SCOPUS-indexed<\/strong> and ESCI-WoS-indexed<\/strong> journals. Registration was offered in tiered categories for professionals and students, with free APCMfI membership<\/strong> given to the first 50 paid registrants.<\/p>\n The seminar successfully bridged the gap between theoretical research and practical industry applications, fostering impactful collaborations that are expected to contribute significantly to future growth and innovation.<\/p>\n
