Johor Bahru, 24 February 2025 \u2013 The Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), proudly celebrates the achievement of Assoc. Prof. ChM. Ts. Dr. Nik Ahmad Nizam Nik Malek<\/strong> and Ts. ChM. Dr. Faizuan Abdullah<\/strong>, who have successfully completed the Innovation and Commercialization Centre (ICC) incubation program and attained the status of Graduated Incubatee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This recognition highlights their outstanding commitment to innovation, commercialization, and entrepreneurial excellence in advancing research and development at UTM. The Graduated Incubatee<\/strong> status is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated remarkable progress in technology commercialization, external funding acquisition, intellectual property (IP) commercialization, and participation in entrepreneurial training<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Dr. Nik Ahmad Nizam and Dr. Faizuan have actively contributed to the innovation ecosystem, translating their research into market-ready solutions through ICC UTM\u2019s incubation program<\/strong>. Their achievements align with UTM\u2019s vision of fostering a sustainable and impactful innovation-driven economy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Graduated Incubatee Criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

To achieve this milestone, incubatees must fulfill key requirements, including:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Participation in extensive training (Novice and Competence\/Advanced Bootcamps).<\/li>\n
  2. Attaining a PDF 2 or higher<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Securing external funding<\/strong> from agencies such as NTIS, MTDC, MPRC, etc.<\/li>\n
  4. Commercializing intellectual property (IP) through licensing, outright sales, or joint IP ownership with UTM subsidiaries<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    With a total of 12 graduated incubatees<\/strong> under ICC UTM, this milestone underscores the university\u2019s dedication to fostering research-driven innovation and commercialization.<\/p>\n

    As recipients of this prestigious status, Dr. Nik Ahmad Nizam and Dr. Faizuan<\/strong> serve as inspirations for researchers and entrepreneurs at UTM. Their success reflects the power of research-driven entrepreneurship in translating scientific discoveries into real-world impact.<\/p>\n
