PUTRAJAYA, 25 July 2025<\/strong> \u2013 A team from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)<\/strong> proudly clinched Second Place (Naib Johan)<\/strong> in the Anugerah Inovasi Industri (Produk)<\/strong> category at the Hari Inovasi 2025<\/strong>, organised by the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS)<\/strong> under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM)<\/strong>. The event was held from 22 to 24 July 2025<\/strong> at Dewan Serbaguna, KPKM, Putrajaya<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The winning innovation, NapierMix TMR Silage<\/strong>, is a vacuum-sealed total mixed ration (TMR) silage product formulated to offer a complete and practical nutritional solution for ruminant livestock. With improved nutrient retention, extended shelf life, and sustainable handling, this product promotes modern and eco-friendly livestock practices.<\/p>\n The project was led by Dr. Mira Panadi<\/strong> from the Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Science<\/strong>, who guided and supervised the development process from ideation to implementation. The research team also included Gan Lin Yong<\/strong>, a Bachelor of Science (Industrial Biology) student, and Gunaranigini Muniandy<\/strong>, a Master\u2019s student\u2014both of whom played key roles through their dedication and commitment to the innovation\u2019s success.<\/p>\n The team was awarded a cash prize of RM2,500<\/strong>, further affirming UTM\u2019s leadership in impactful, sustainable research in the veterinary and agricultural sectors.<\/p>\n Acknowledgement is also extended to the UTM Innovation and Commercialisation Centre (ICC)<\/strong> for their funding support under the SME Strategic Industry Collaboration Grant<\/strong>, which enabled successful collaboration with industry partners to commercialise the product.<\/p>\n This award stands as a testament to UTM\u2019s continuous efforts in championing innovation, sustainability, and high-impact research aligned with national goals for food security and agricultural advancement.<\/p>\n
