PITCH IT Roadshow Southern: Johor 2025<\/strong>, part of a nationwide initiative by Cradle to boost Malaysia\u2019s startup ecosystem ahead of the upcoming <strong data-start=\"544\" data-end=\"573\">Startup ASEAN Summit 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"576\" data-end=\"709\">This recognition highlights UTM\u2019s growing footprint in innovation and entrepreneurship. The two winning research-based products were:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"711\" data-end=\"863\">\ud83d\udd39 <strong data-start=\"714\" data-end=\"733\">GreenHydro Tech<\/strong> by <strong data-start=\"737\" data-end=\"770\">Ts. Dr. Fariza Hanim Suhailin<\/strong><br data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"773\" \/>\ud83d\udd39 <strong data-start=\"776\" data-end=\"793\">BioCell Green<\/strong> by <strong data-start=\"797\" data-end=\"822\">Dr. Nur Hidayah Ahmad<\/strong> (Team Lead) and <strong data-start=\"839\" data-end=\"863\">Dr. Nurhafizah Hasim<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"865\" data-end=\"1112\">Among 12 participating teams, only three products were selected as winners \u2014 each receiving <strong data-start=\"957\" data-end=\"983\">RM2,500 in cash prizes<\/strong>. These awards acknowledge the high commercial viability and societal relevance of the technologies developed by UTM researchers.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1114\" data-end=\"1173\">\ud83c\udf31 BioCell Green \u2013 From Biomass to Battery Innovation<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1174\" data-end=\"1777\">BioCell Green is a biodegradable electrolyte system created using <strong data-start=\"1240\" data-end=\"1273\">carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC)<\/strong> combined with <strong data-start=\"1288\" data-end=\"1322\">zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO)<\/strong>. As a safe and eco-friendly alternative to hazardous conventional battery electrolytes, it has been tested up to <strong data-start=\"1436\" data-end=\"1476\">Technology Readiness Level 7 (TRL 7)<\/strong> in sensor applications. The product is aligned with <strong data-start=\"1529\" data-end=\"1565\">UN Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong> (SDG 7: Affordable &amp; Clean Energy, and SDG 13: Climate Action), with applications in electronics, IoT, and sustainable energy. It reflects the <em data-start=\"1709\" data-end=\"1728\">\u201cwaste to wealth\u201d<\/em> concept with strong commercialization potential.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1779\" data-end=\"1851\">\ud83d\udca7 GreenHydro Tech \u2013 A Natural Solution for Microplastic Pollution<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1852\" data-end=\"2134\">GreenHydro Tech is a naturally derived <strong data-start=\"1891\" data-end=\"1918\">biopolymer-based filter<\/strong> that has demonstrated up to <strong data-start=\"1947\" data-end=\"1996\">99.2% effectiveness in removing microplastics<\/strong> from water. As a safer and sustainable solution, the innovation supports clean water access, environmental protection, and public health.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2136\" data-end=\"2552\">This outstanding achievement by UTM researchers was also highlighted in national media and featured in <strong data-start=\"2239\" data-end=\"2260\">Digital News Asia<\/strong>, further validating their innovative contributions to the local startup ecosystem.
