Together, they have designed a thematic science book aimed at cultivating curiosity and foundational STEM understanding among preschool children.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1201\" data-end=\"1258\">The <strong data-start=\"1205\" data-end=\"1227\">primary objectives<\/strong> of this KTP initiative are to:<\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"1259\" data-end=\"1556\">\n<li data-start=\"1259\" data-end=\"1345\">\n<p data-start=\"1262\" data-end=\"1345\">Enhance preschool teachers\u2019 knowledge and skills in teaching science effectively.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1346\" data-end=\"1461\">\n<p data-start=\"1349\" data-end=\"1461\">Build teachers\u2019 capacity in developing creative and engaging teaching aids, particularly science-themed books.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1462\" data-end=\"1556\">\n<p data-start=\"1465\" data-end=\"1556\">Foster children\u2019s interest in learning through science exploration and hands-on activities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-start=\"1558\" data-end=\"1986\">The project commenced with a <strong data-start=\"1587\" data-end=\"1649\">discussion session with KEMAS Johor and preschool teachers<\/strong> on <strong data-start=\"1653\" data-end=\"1668\">15 May 2024<\/strong>, followed by a <strong data-start=\"1684\" data-end=\"1721\">second engagement on 15 July 2024<\/strong>, where program content and teaching strategies were refined. The highlight of the initiative was the <strong data-start=\"1823\" data-end=\"1871\">implementation workshop on 18 September 2024<\/strong>, introducing the <strong data-start=\"1889\" data-end=\"1906\">Eco Education<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1911\" data-end=\"1932\">Agrotechnopreneur<\/strong> modules aligned with the <strong data-start=\"1958\" data-end=\"1985\">STREAM KEMAS curriculum<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1988\" data-end=\"2294\">Throughout the sessions, teachers participated in interactive workshops and classroom activities designed to integrate science into daily preschool lessons. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with feedback indicating that the program enhanced teachers\u2019 confidence and creativity in science teaching.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2296\" data-end=\"2595\">A total of <strong data-start=\"2307\" data-end=\"2332\">20 preschool teachers<\/strong> from KEMAS Johor took part in this phase of the program. Data collected from post-program surveys showed significant improvement in teachers\u2019 understanding of STEM pedagogy and their readiness to apply innovative science-based approaches in preschool classrooms.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2597\" data-end=\"2992\">The success of this initiative underscores UTM\u2019s commitment to extending its academic expertise beyond campus, strengthening community education through <strong data-start=\"2750\" data-end=\"2841\">knowledge transfer, capacity building, and innovation in early childhood STEM education<\/strong>. Future phases of the project will continue to expand on the development of localized teaching resources and training for more educators across Johor.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2994\" data-end=\"3168\">For more updates on impactful research and community programs by the Faculty of Science, visit <a data-start=\"3089\" data-end=\"3167\" class=\"decorated-link\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/science.utm.my\/utmfsresearch\/\">https:\/\/science.utm.my\/utmfsresearch<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2994\" data-end=\"3168\">\n<h3 data-start=\"110\" data-end=\"212\"><strong data-start=\"114\" data-end=\"212\">UTM dan KEMAS Johor Perkasa Pembelajaran STEM Prasekolah Melalui Program Pemindahan Ilmu (KTP)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"214\" data-end=\"775\"><strong data-start=\"214\" data-end=\"248\">Johor Bahru, 18 September 2024<\/strong> \u2013 Fakulti Sains, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) dengan kerjasama <strong data-start=\"319\" data-end=\"341\">KEMAS Negeri Johor<\/strong> telah berjaya melaksanakan <strong data-start=\"369\" data-end=\"431\">Program Pemindahan Ilmu (Knowledge Transfer Program \u2013 KTP)<\/strong> bertajuk <em data-start=\"441\" data-end=\"546\">\u201cPembangunan dan Aplikasi Buku Bertema Sains Alam Semulajadi bagi Pembelajaran STEM untuk Pra-Sekolah.\u201d<\/em><br data-start=\"546\" data-end=\"549\" \/>Program ini merupakan inisiatif UTM untuk menghubungkan kepakaran akademik dengan masyarakat, khususnya dalam memperkasakan pendidikan awal kanak-kanak berasaskan pendekatan Sains, Teknologi, Kejuruteraan dan Matematik (STEM).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"777\" data-end=\"1334\">Projek ini diketuai oleh <strong data-start=\"802\" data-end=\"829\">PM Dr. Mohd Bakri Bakar<\/strong> bersama pasukan penyelidik yang terdiri daripada <strong data-start=\"879\" data-end=\"911\">Prof. Dr. Zaiton Abdul Majid<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"913\" data-end=\"946\">Dr. Mohamad Afiq Mohamed Huri<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"948\" data-end=\"972\">Dr. Siti Aminah Setu<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"974\" data-end=\"1004\">Dr. Siti Ernieyanti Hashim<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1006\" data-end=\"1041\">Dr. Mohamad Hamdi Zainal Abidin<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1043\" data-end=\"1073\">Dr. Nurrul Hidayah Salamun<\/strong>, dan <strong data-start=\"1079\" data-end=\"1114\">Dr. Mohammad Izat Emir Zulkifly<\/strong> daripada Fakulti Sains. Pasukan ini telah membangunkan sebuah buku bertema sains alam semulajadi yang direka khas untuk meningkatkan minat dan kefahaman kanak-kanak terhadap pembelajaran STEM sejak peringkat prasekolah.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1336\" data-end=\"1393\">Antara <strong data-start=\"1343\" data-end=\"1377\">objektif utama program KTP ini<\/strong> adalah untuk:<\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"1394\" data-end=\"1714\">\n<li data-start=\"1394\" data-end=\"1493\">\n<p data-start=\"1397\" data-end=\"1493\">Meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemahiran guru prasekolah dalam pengajaran sains secara berkesan.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1494\" data-end=\"1602\">\n<p data-start=\"1497\" data-end=\"1602\">Membantu guru membangunkan bahan bantu mengajar yang kreatif dan menarik berasaskan buku bertema sains.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1603\" data-end=\"1714\">\n<p data-start=\"1606\" data-end=\"1714\">Memupuk minat kanak-kanak terhadap pembelajaran berasaskan penerokaan dan aktiviti sains yang menyeronokkan.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-start=\"1716\" data-end=\"2131\">Program ini dimulakan dengan <strong data-start=\"1745\" data-end=\"1808\">sesi perbincangan bersama pihak KEMAS Johor dan guru tabika<\/strong> pada <strong data-start=\"1814\" data-end=\"1829\">15 Mei 2024<\/strong>, diikuti dengan <strong data-start=\"1846\" data-end=\"1879\">sesi kedua pada 15 Julai 2024<\/strong> bagi memperincikan kandungan modul dan aktiviti pembelajaran. Puncak program ini ialah <strong data-start=\"1967\" data-end=\"2013\">bengkel pelaksanaan pada 18 September 2024<\/strong>, yang memperkenalkan <strong data-start=\"2035\" data-end=\"2084\">modul \u201cEco Education\u201d dan \u201cAgrotechnopreneur\u201d<\/strong> yang dijajarkan dengan <strong data-start=\"2108\" data-end=\"2130\">modul STREAM KEMAS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2133\" data-end=\"2466\">Sepanjang pelaksanaan bengkel, para guru diberi pendedahan melalui aktiviti interaktif, simulasi pengajaran, dan pembinaan bahan bantu belajar yang kreatif. Hasil soal selidik menunjukkan peningkatan ketara dari segi kefahaman, keyakinan, dan kreativiti guru dalam melaksanakan aktiviti pembelajaran sains di bilik darjah prasekolah.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2468\" data-end=\"2774\">Seramai <strong data-start=\"2476\" data-end=\"2512\">20 orang guru Tabika KEMAS Johor<\/strong> telah menyertai program ini dan memberikan maklum balas yang amat positif. Dapatan menunjukkan bahawa program ini berjaya memperkukuh kompetensi guru dalam pedagogi STEM dan memberi inspirasi untuk mengintegrasikan elemen sains dalam pengajaran seharian mereka.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2776\" data-end=\"3127\">Kejayaan program ini membuktikan komitmen UTM dalam memperluas manfaat ilmu kepada masyarakat melalui aktiviti <strong data-start=\"2887\" data-end=\"2985\">pemindahan ilmu, pembangunan kapasiti, dan inovasi pendidikan awal kanak-kanak berasaskan STEM<\/strong>.
