Prof. Ts. Dr. Muhammad Safwan Abdul Aziz<\/strong> from the <strong data-start=\"270\" data-end=\"295\">Department of Physics<\/strong> for being awarded the <strong data-start=\"318\" data-end=\"360\">Prototype Research Grant Scheme (PRGS)<\/strong> by the <strong data-start=\"368\" data-end=\"417\">Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), Malaysia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"422\" data-end=\"798\">Dr. Safwan received <strong data-start=\"442\" data-end=\"458\">RM175,000.00<\/strong> for his project titled <em data-start=\"482\" data-end=\"590\">\u201cField Deployable Laser Metal Printing System with Integrated Real-Time Optical Spectroscopic Monitoring.\u201d<\/em> This cutting-edge research aims to develop a <strong data-start=\"636\" data-end=\"673\">portable metal 3D printing system<\/strong> equipped with <strong data-start=\"688\" data-end=\"720\">real-time optical monitoring<\/strong>, offering a novel approach to advanced manufacturing and rapid prototyping.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"800\" data-end=\"1200\">The proposed system integrates <strong data-start=\"831\" data-end=\"861\">laser-based metal printing<\/strong> with <strong data-start=\"867\" data-end=\"891\">optical spectroscopy<\/strong> to continuously monitor and control material deposition and surface quality during the fabrication process. Such an innovation promises to enhance precision, reduce production time, and minimize waste\u2014key advantages that align with global trends in <strong data-start=\"1141\" data-end=\"1197\">Industry 4.0 and additive manufacturing technologies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1202\" data-end=\"1565\">The field-deployable nature of this prototype enables flexible, on-site production capabilities, particularly useful in remote or industrial environments where conventional fabrication systems are not feasible. This technology has potential applications in aerospace, automotive, and defense industries, where precision-engineered metal components are critical.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1567\" data-end=\"1814\">Assoc. Prof. Ts.
